From VW California Beach to packhorse: Our adventure with the VW Caddy van
Goodbye VW California Beach, hello Caddy!
After saying goodbye to our VW California Beach, we didn't have a "daily ride" for a while, as we mostly get around our home base walking and by bike.
Out of a desire for something new, we bought a brand new VW Caddy van at the end of 2020 with 27km on the clock.
Minimalism was the motto: From the front seats onwards, the Caddy was to be converted into a compact mini-camper. ️
However, between work, everyday stress and other commitments, the conversion unfortunately fell by the wayside.
The skylight, floorboard and wheel arches were insulated for the time being. ☁️
So the Caddy was short handed converted into a packhorse.
Whether it's moving, sports equipment or spontaneous trips - the Caddy masters every challenge with flying colors.
It also had to serve well for a 3-week surf trip to the French Atlantic coast in 2021.
With a tent, board, stove and sleeping mat, it offered enough space and was a quick and affordable way to get around. ️
Whether camper or packhorse - the Caddy has won us over!
Its versatility, low fuel consumption and driving pleasure make it the perfect companion for any lifestyle. ️
