In the first 20 years I cleaned the rims almost every week. Then at some point 10 years ago the fight was lost and nothing was done. After the historic certification of the VW California, I considered buying new “cheese hole rims” (also H-compatible) or trying it first with the spray film presented by Manu @schalldose.on.tour . Due to the free time because of the travel ban I just started cleaning. 10 year old brake dust and aluminum putty. Wire brush, sanding paper, Dremel and and And now? I would even be satisfied with the current result. It would be great if someone had a tip for hobbyists. Nothing fancy. No sandblasting or something likely. The rim stars are actually still acceptable, I can make small repairs. The problem is the rim base, which was originally only highly polished. Are there simple home user options?
