Winter Sun & Beers in "Africa": A Spontaneous Campervan Roadtrip
Spontaneous Christmas idea: We packed up our VW California Beach #campervan and headed south. The goal: a beer on the African continent.
A combined road trip of campervan life and hotel stays. First night in France, then on to Spain.
Denia, Valencia province: Palm trees, beach, and blue sea - winter at its best. We soaked up the first rays of sunshine. We stayed here for the next few days and over New Year's Eve, enjoying the sun, the harbor, and the old town with its pirate village atmosphere.
Tarifa, the southernmost point of Europe: Here you can feel the African flair. We explored the old town with its narrow streets and enjoyed the view of Africa.
Ferry to Tangier: An adventure in Morocco! We visited the Cave of Hercules, immersed ourselves in the labyrinthine Medina, and were captivated by the scents and colors. Lunch was a cool beer in a street cafe - Africa in a nutshell!
Return trip through Spain: Marbella, chic vibes and a yacht harbor. We treated ourselves to a hotel stay and relaxed by the pool. In the evening, we strolled along the beach promenade and enjoyed the view of the sparkling sea.
A few more beautiful days on the Spanish Mediterranean coast with its mild climate. Last stop in Barcelona before heading back home in one go.
Overall: A spontaneous roadtrip full of surprises. Camping and hotels, beach and culture, Europe and Africa - a perfect mix! The beer in Tangier was just a small highlight - the journey itself was the adventure!
Tips:
- Book the ferry to Tangier in advance.
- In Morocco, it's best to rely on cash and only use your credit card in larger shops
