Stop 1: Beaune, France 🇫🇷🍷
The only town where it’s totally normal to pair your morning coffee with a solid debate over which wine to take home. Spoiler: We didn’t decide, but we’re pretty sure our van is fermenting its own blend now.
Stop 2: Le Barcarès Marina ⚓🌊
Woke up to boats prettier than our VW Grand California (don’t tell it we said that). Spent the evening contemplating life, seafood, and why we packed 5 sweaters for a “winter” trip to Spain.
Etappe 3: From Le Barcarès 🇫🇷 to Alcossebre 🇪🇸– New Year, new memories! 🎆✨

Etappe 4: From Alcossebre to the wilds of Andalusia—where even the GPS said, “You sure about this?” 🚐🌴
After a solid drive straight south, we landed at a snowbird paradise in the middle of nowhere, just a stone’s throw from the beach. 🏖️ The kind of place where flip-flops are formal wear, and everyone knows exactly where to get the cheapest sangria. 🍷
Highlights of the middle-of-nowhere experience:
🌅 Beach access: 10/10, as long as you don’t mind sharing it with a few friendly stray cats.
🪑 Campground vibe: Retirement goals unlocked—we were the youngest people here. Felt like
🛠️ Evening entertainment: Watching our neighbors argue over who forgot to refill the propane tank. Pure gold.
Bonus: The van finally got a break from all the driving. Meanwhile, we stretched out, soaked up some sun, and wondered if “snowbirding” is our new life plan. Thoughts?
🌿 Etappe 6: Glamping & Hiking in Las Negras 🌊
Our VW Grand California brought us to the heart of Cabo de Gata, and what a spot to park up! 🚌✨ Las Negras is where rugged trails meet serene coastal vibes. A morning hike through volcanic landscapes, followed by glamping comfort under the stars ✨
Whether it’s the dramatic cliffs, turquoise waters, or simply the joy of the journey, Etappe 6 before heading into the only desert 🏜️ in Europe.

✨ Winter Road Trip Vibes – Stops 9 & 10 🚐❄️
Two more epic nights on the road with the VW Grand California, and what a contrast they were!
Stop 9: Palomeras “Nuclear Beach”
We rolled up to this wild spot, where hundreds of other campers were parked up. —like a festival on the beach. 🌊🎶 Endless beach views, a buzzing atmosphere. 🍷🌅
Stop 10: Mojácar Playa
The next night was all about the chill. We parked right by the sea, waves crashing just a few steps from the van. 🌊☀️ Behind us, beautiful hills, and all around us, the mix of beachy vibes and local city life. Restaurants, shops, and sunsets—this place had it all. 🚐✨
Ahoy! 🏴☠️ Our VW Grand California campervan winter tour took us to the pirate towns of Dénia and Peñíscola.
🗺️ Dénia welcomed us with its laid-back vibe, colorful streets, and a picturesque harbor. We explored the city with views stretching across the Mediterranean, imagining pirates scanning the horizon centuries ago! 🏰⚓
🚐 Cozy evenings were spent in our campervan, parked by the sea, listening to the soothing waves and savoring local delicacies.

After Peniscola, Denia and Oliva we took our way home with another stop in Le Barcarès and one already in Germany (Bad Krozingen)
