An Unforgettable Road Trip: From Germany to Portugal and Back in a VW Westfalia Vanagon (2016)
Back in 2016, We had the opportunity to embark on an unforgettable road trip with my trusty VW Westfalia Vanagon. The journey began in Germany and took us through France with a stop over in Biarritz to Madrid all the way down to Lisbon, where our adventure truly began.
Viva España and Viva Portugal!
My first stop was the vibrant city of Madrid. Of course, a visit to the world-famous Hard Rock Cafe was a must! The next evening, we continued south to Lisbon, the charming capital of Portugal. Here the 2nd night in a row at the Hard Rock Cafe Lisbon. From there, the real exploration began: cruising along the stunning Atlantic coastline, following in the footsteps of the most famous surf spots. Places like Ericeira and Peniche made any surfer's heart skip a beat.
Spanish Coastal Gems and French Waves
But Portugal wasn't all. The journey continued into Spain, where we explored the regions of Galicia and Asturias. The rugged coastline and lush landscapes offered breathtaking scenery.
To wrap up the trip, We made one last return to France, specifically to the Atlantic coast in Moliet-et-Maa. Here, we was able to experience the atmosphere of the WSL (World Surf League) Tour event in Hossegor firsthand.
Weeks Filled with Adventure and Freedom
After weeks filled with adventure, freedom, and beautiful landscapes, it was finally time to head back to Germany. It was a journey that will stay with me forever. The combination of exciting cities, breathtaking nature, and the freedom that a road trip with your own Vanagon offers was simply perfect.
